Nuts For Health
Nuts For Health(PUN =D)
Nuts. Who hates nuts? They go perfectly with anything. Now we know that they can help with many health problems! A group of scientists took a large group of 1,200 people and gave them a normal diet, just with some nuts. A year later, the people who were taken for the test, had lost weight, had healthy blood pressure, and were more energetic. This proves that all people should eat more nuts. But, there is a down side. The nuts you know are the salty kind, which have the healthy stuff, but would hurt your body with too much salt. And the un-salty nuts are not really that yummyful. So if you want to be healthy, EAT UNSALTTED NUTS!

HEARTS FOR SALE
Hearts For Sale
A group of scientists from all of Europe invented a new heart that is almost exactly the same as a normal, healthy heart. But this idea is not new. The scientists have been planning this for over 15 years, but only now they’ve got it working. With this prototype, they are going to try and save 20,000 patients around Europe as a test for the heart. Since donors are so short, this is a great time for the new heart. Heart Foundation said: Peter Weissburg of the British Heart Foundation says, "This is the latest attempt to engineer an artificial heart that will do the heart's job effectively without any dangerous side effects.” However, the heart does have a flaw: its battery can only last 16 hours. Charging the battery means putting a cable inside the human body every time the battery dies which is 21 times in two weeks and over 500 times a year. And charging isn’t the most comfortable thing in the world, having a cable go into your “heart”. But this is only a prototype; the beginning to the complete heart.

Special: Breakfast Is Dying!
Special: Breakfast Is Dying!
The bee population is quickly dying out. But that doesn’t only raise the price of your honey. Sure, losing honey doesn’t seem that bad but that’s only the start. Think of a good breakfast; orange juice, maybe some honey tea, toast, vegetables, maybe cereal, and coffee. But most of all these things will be gone soon. Orange juices need pollen, and without it, oranges would die. Of course you couldn’t have honey tea. Plants for your vegetables would die. And even meat would be harder to come by. If animals eat pollen needing plants, and there is no pollen, they’d starve to death. And if you like rotting, dead animal meat, good for you! And cows make milk, so if there is no pollination and no food for the cows, that means no cows which means no milk! And coffee, the coffee beans would be scarce and the price for coffee would skyrocket. And croissants would not have the almond goodness because almonds would be gone. And this is real! From 2007 to 2008, 30% of Europe’s bee population died out. Now you know how important bees are to the world and its entire population.

Philip's New Article
Cars could soon come with parental controls that limit what younger drivers can do with a car.
Developed by Ford, the “MyKey” system limits a car's top speed, how loud its stereo can be, and sounds warnings if seatbelts are not being worn. So to get things straight, the cars can have adjustable limits.
Ford will introduce the controls on some US makes of car that are due to first show up in 2009 but go on sale in 2010.
The Ford Focus will be the first to have MyKey, but the car maker said it would become a standard feature.
The main element of the MyKey system is to limit the top speed of a car to 80mph.
Ford says other options allow parents or what ever to limit the volume on the car stereo and make the car sound a continuous alert if drivers and passengers are not wearing a seatbelt.
Other options will let parents decide if warning tones should sound if a car goes faster than 45, 55 or 65 mph.
Another feature is that you can make the car require a drivers license of some type, like your own or you Childs” It’s making use of existing technology, and through the magic of software, we're able to build features on top of the features we already have," said Jim Buczkowski, Ford's director of electronic and electrical systems engineering.
Ford's compact version of the Focus, which is due to go on sale in 2010, will be the first to sport MyKey. But a spokesman said it would spread to all cars in the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury range as models are updated.
"Research we've done has shown that speeding is a major factor in teen crashes, especially novice teen drivers," Anne McCartt, senior vice president for research at the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, told the AP news agency.
"So I think a system that tries to correct the speeding behavior has the potential to improve safety," she added. This technology is surely to change the way of cars and car-safety.

PHILIPS {-=NEW=-} ARTICLE
Pictures Without A Camera
Stephen Wiltshire, a not-so normal person in London is, well, not so normal. He is a college student, majoring in visual art. Not only is his art spectacular, but his memory is photographic. His art is sights he’s seen, everyday things that he liked. He plays piano and you would think he’d be great, knowing that his memory is incredible, but if he messes up on one thing, it’s impossible to fix. When the media found out about his photographic memory, they wanted to proof. So they took him on a 15-minute helicopter ride around London. When he got back, he was told to draw what he saw on the ride. He received a very large piece of paper, and started to draw. When he finished, the media wanted to see that he didn’t just draw buildings and houses. So, they resolved the problem by calling in random people to find there houses on the drawing. All of the people found their houses and apartments and said they look almost exactly the same. Stephen was asked to draw other cities, such as Rome and Tokyo, which he did. “It’s autism,” people say. “It’s not natural.”
Stephen does have signs of autism, eating the exact same lunch every single day is not really normal but, who cares?
After Stephen did the tasks the media asked, they made it into a program called “The Human Camera” and he still makes art today.

BREAKING NEWS!!!
At last! Finally we now know were whales come from. These creatures are believed to be the last amphibious evolutionary link to whales!!! Recent discoveries prove that whales were once odd looking rodents!!! Who would have ever guessed that they were related? In recent fossil finds prove the evolutionary similarities between the two. It has long been perceived that the closest relative was the hippo, until now. Whales were not always like the modern day ones, but more of a pig or dog with fins (much bigger of course!!!). This newly discovered creature is called “Indohyus”. Further testing is needed to support other hypotheses.

Philip's Article (So Far)
Should We Be In School?
Construction rages by every corner at Cab Calloway. Dust gets in the air, and gunk and dirt is everywhere. Is this sanitary? We have no ceiling and not many rooms. The students and teachers are stuffed into old closet rooms with no windows and no air conditioning. The heat is intense, and the comfort is bad. Students need SOME comfort to think. And we sweat so much that we get dehydrated. And that raises another problem. With the pipes all exposed to the construction, and some are even leaking, is the drinking water clean? Sure we can get a drink at lunch, but lunch is at 10:20 and what about the other four hours? Unsanitary, uncomfortable, and intense heat.
Noise is another problem. While classes are going on, booming, loud noises burst. As some of you may know, it gets EXTREMELY annoying. The noise makes it ten times harder to focus. If any of you can focus with all the noise going on, you’ve got a real good talent.
